In the ever-changing world in which we live, there is not a more critical and demanding time where experienced leadership, ensuring that the needs of the people are met, has ever existed. I believe this must be carried out with common sense and compassionate service while ensuring the public’s trust and safety without compromise.

We all want our community to be one that is safe to raise our children and impossible for the criminal element to be comfortable. United as a group of people, working together for the betterment of McCracken County, there is little we cannot do, but divided there is little we can do.

My pledge to you, the citizens of McCracken County, is to convert all my words into deeds. As sheriff I will continue to exemplify the highest standards of ethical and moral behavior, which requires complete freedom from deceit or fraud and to ensure transparency to the community. I will ensure the sheriff’s department’s conduct provides uncompromising service to our community and this department will have a firm adherence to ethical principles and sound moral character. I pledge an unrelenting, determination to serve the community and to achieve a standard of excellence in every endeavor.

Experience

I have served in a public capacity over the past 22 years, and began my law enforcement career at the McCracken County Sheriff’s Department in 2000. Since 2000 I have promoted through the ranks and served in the roles of bailiff, road deputy, detective, detective sergeant, operations captain, and detective captain. I have served in essentially every role at the McCracken County Sheriff's Department and continue to serve this community today as part of the departments command staff. I have served in each of those positions and will continue to serve with impeccable integrity and a track record that will clearly reveal nothing to the contrary. Those positions have provided the experiences necessary, to prepare me for this next important step. My experience ranges from tax collection, court security, calls of service to the community, identifying perpetrators of minor criminal mischief acts, overseeing the day to day operations of the department, investigating murders, and everything in-between. During my tenure, I have personally been a part of seizing millions of dollars in illegal drugs that never had an opportunity, to make it onto the streets of our community. Drug dealers beware. Vigorous drug enforcement will continue under my leadership. I know first-hand and have witnessed the devastation that drugs cause and the multitude of crimes that are often cultivated as a result of illegal drug activity.

I believe that having experience in each and every one of these roles is vital for the next sheriff to have. I believe it is impossible to lead by example if you do not have the experience that enables you to know how to lead in each and every one of the variety of challenges that law enforcement faces today.

I am most humbled and honored to have the support of the McCracken County Sheriff’s Department and endorsement of current Sheriff Jon Hayden. I have worked with Sheriff Hayden my entire career and know firsthand his endorsement and support is not by popularity, but by choice in which he has entrusted and believes that I am the most qualified person, committed to and will continue leading this department in the right directions and to the next level of professionalism. My request to the citizens is to please check into my reputation and track record with those that will know best and have worked beside me for the past several years. I encourage you to ask others that wear the badge, our prosecutors, court officials, and fellow citizens that know anything about me and I’m confident they will not deny my words to you today are both accurate and true!
